Customized, high-quality training on Autodesk software can be costly both in time and money. However, the cost of not continually training and improving the knowledge-base of employees is even greater.
We encourage businesses and organizations to take advantage of this limited funding contribution from the Ontario government to significantly offset the financial cost of essential skills development.
What is the Canada-Ontario Job Grant?
The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) is a government program that is Federally funded, but Provincially administered. Small, medium and large businesses qualify for these funds to put towards training and skills development of their employees. This government program will fund the majority of the training expense.
There are two skills training pilots part of the grant:
- Canada-Ontario Job Grant: Customized Training
- Canada-Ontario Job Grant: UpSkill
How much can a company apply for?
Companies can apply for up to $10,000 per employee, per training initiative. Funds can be applied to training costs, textbooks, and software.
How much of the funding is covered by the government?
The government will cover 2/3 of the funds applied for and the remaining 1/3 is covered by the company applying. Companies with less than 50 employees may qualify for additional funding towards their share of the costs.
How do I apply for the job grant?
There is a simple electronic application form that needs to be filled out by the employer. Redcage has helped guide hundreds of clients submit their application. We are more than happy to assist your company with this process. Once the application has been completed it is then submitted online.
How much does it cost to apply?
There is no cost to apply for the COJG. Redcage does not charge any fees for our assistance with your application.
How long does the approval process take?
Once you have applied online, you will typically receive a call from the service provider within 48 hours to review your application. Once the review has been completed and your application is deemed acceptable, you will receive formal approval within days. Typically, this whole process takes no more than a week or two.
How long will the job grant be available?
The Canada-Ontario Job Grant was initiated by the federal government on March 28, 2014 as a 6-year initiative. The grant provides Ontario with $192 million per year.
Applications for the grant and skills training pilots are open while funding remains available.
When does training need to be completed after approval?
Training needs to be completed within 12 months after approval in order to receive the funding contributions.
