A Quick Look at Autodesk Vault Integration with Revit Workflow

Revit’s integration to Vault provides stakeholders numerous benefits.

Because of Autodesk Vault’s synergy with Revit Server not only can designers browse for their project files from Vault, but can also access related information such as templates, family content or other relevant project documents.

File linking from Vault now includes multiple file types and insertion options, providing a managed environment for linking approved files from within Revit.

Adding families to a project has never been easier or more comprehensive than with Vault’s ability to search for content and index properties across family files.

This powerful federated search permits users to find elements using multi-faceted search criteria, which can then be inserted into their model.

Furthermore, Autodesk Vault enables content administrators control over which elements are available for searching, eliminating the need to search through non-relevant information.

This functionality takes place within the context of workflow, utilizing security offered by Vault and allowing users to access only relevant and approved content.

As the design process reaches significant milestones, project files are added to Vault offering a secure location for managing approval processes and project history, providing non-Revit stakeholders the ability to see file relationships and project status outside of Revit.

Vault also offers Revit users an easy and powerful way to track and manage sheets.

This functionality gives BIM managers the ability to publish sheets to Vault, where they can then control access, track history, manage a workflow and review and mark-up sheets.

Once in the Vault, users can then combine sheets for multiple Revit files or disciplines into one organized deliverable which can then be distributed internally and externally.

Vault also recognizes all views that are saved in Revit for users who need access to these views outside of Revit.
